Hannover Messe 2019 Retrospective

16 April, 2019

The five-day long Hannover Messe 2019 is over. As last year, the CoR-Lab presented itself at the booth of the leading-edge cluster it's OWL and the region Ostwestfalen-Lippe. In numerous discussions with expert visitors from regional and national industry as well as government representatives, the interest in our exhibits on machine learning from small amounts of data, resource-efficient embedded systems and interactive robots was clearly demonstrated. The show cases developed by scientists from the CoR-Lab and CITEC were also covered in a report by WDR television (the video will be made available here if possible).

The cognitive edge computing platforms and accompanying software development tools as well as the machine learning methods, which are the joint foundation of these demonstrators are of particular interest to small and medium-sized enterprises, as they allow the cost-efficient development, application and operation of machine learning algorithms for products and production systems. Example application areas that are in the focus of CoR-Lab researchers are the simple adaptation of robotic systems for full or collaborative automation, cognitive assistance for workers, predictive quality systems and many more.

We are looking forward to translating the positive feedback from Hannover Messe 2019 into intense discussions about future collaborations in the coming weeks with our existing and new partners. If you couldn’t make it to this year’s fair, please do not hesitate to contact us in case of any questions.
